Baby Nascar Anyone?

Damn, why wasn’t I born later, like say in the age of the ROBOT BABY CARRIER? Check it out, this transformers-esque baby carrier goes from innocent, soothing cradle to hot, baby racecar action.

From the product literature “When it is switched on to the automatic mode… it changes automatically, from the comfortable baby cradle to a robot car, and maneuvers by itself through the room, dodging the furnitures and walls, thus giving the young baby the fun of riding a car.” Well, I think we know what this means, baby drag racing, baby games of chicken. All your favorite deadly games with cars, now available for baby.

I wonder if baby racing will be the next big spectator sport thanks to this wonderful invention. I just hope this bad boy comes with a helmet. You know how those stick in the mud consumer protection organizations can be.

Your Daily Dose of WTF?!

I made a discovery today that was too bizarre not to share. Apparently the US Social Security Administration has a chorus. They sing acapella covers of TV theme shows. I found this out because they were singing at some street festival near my house today and I saw them performing while walking down the street.

That’s not all,  the Social Security Administration has an entire activity association for their employees complete with a band. How high school. I wonder if the SSA employees think their extracurricular activites will look good on their college applications or something, oh wait, nevermind, they’re probably already through with that. OK, I don’t get it. What ever happened to having friends and family and activities that don’t involve the people you see all day at work?

Panhandling Dogs that Commute

Animals are totally amazing. Check out this article about wild dogs in Moscow taking public transit into the city to search for food. On one hand, it’s pretty awe-inspiring that these pups are so smart, on the other, it kills me that they have to work so hard for a bite to eat.

Things have been a little hectic here at Ex-Boyfriend HQ but nothing alleviates the tension like a face this cute. Red pandas are absurdly cute. This little guy lives at the Houston zoo.

Kitty Battle, Roomba-style.

In case you missed it, a few weeks back the hot vid-of-the-day at YouTube was this cat spinning around on a Roomba robotic vacuum cleaner. It was no ninja cat or talking kittens, but hey, they can’t all be. Today, however, the gauntlet was thrown down. In an apparent effort to unseat Roomba cat from the top of robotic-vacuum-riding-cat hill, these young turks have essentially guaranteed that Roomba Cat MkI will rapidly fade into obscurity, with his only claim to fame being that he was first. Because these guys are ADORABLE. I love my full-grown cat Oliver, who is the handsomest of all beasts, but much like rock always beats scissors, kitten ALWAYS beats cat.

The best part of this video is how it actually illustrates a playground favorite: When kids would pile onto the merry-go-round, and one would spin it as fast as possible, gradually causing the weaker kids to fly off until the strongest remained. MITTENS IS STRONGEST ONE THERE IS!
